Everyone deserves an equal shot at credit and at housing. That is both the law and the standard of this practice.

Equal Housing Opportunity

We do business in accordance with the Federal Fair Housing Act and the Equal Credit Opportunity Act. It is illegal to discriminate against any person because of race, color, religion, sex, handicap, familial status, national origin, or in Minnesota also creed, marital status, status with regard to public assistance, sexual orientation, gender identity, or familial status.

Equal Credit Opportunity Act

The federal Equal Credit Opportunity Act prohibits creditors from discriminating against credit applicants on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, marital status, age (provided the applicant has the capacity to contract), because all or part of the applicant’s income derives from any public assistance program, or because the applicant has in good faith exercised any right under the Consumer Credit Protection Act.

Filing a complaint

Housing discrimination complaints may be filed with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development at hud.gov or with the Minnesota Department of Human Rights. Concerns about a mortgage transaction may also be submitted to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
